Hot chocolate may be a winter classic, but this hot vanilla is a tasty alternative, especially when topped with a sweet cinnamon whipped cream.
This is an easy treat that comes together more quickly than stovetop hot chocolate, and I’m thinking about serving it as part of our Christmas Eve tradition this year.
Ingredients:
- 8 cup milk
- 2-1/2 tablespoon sugar
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
Directions:
In a small saucepan, combine milk and sugar and heat on medium-low until steaming. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract.
In a mixing bowl, combine cream, sugar and cinnamon and whip until soft peaks form.
Divide the hot vanilla among 4-6 mugs and top with a generous dollop of whipped cream.
