101 Days of Christmas: Easy Monogram Balls

I’ve seen versions of this project popping up all over Pinterest and blogs, and it’s one that you can make as simple or fancy as you’d like!

These monogram ornaments can be given as gifts themselves or used as place cards (set on top of a small napkin ring in the center of a plate?), gift tags and more.

We happened to have some really cheap Christmas balls on hand that we used for these, which I think would be fine for gift tags or even place cards, but if you’re going to give them as gifts, you may want to use a higher quality ball as the base. I’m thinking you might even be able to find some in thrift shops and yard sales if you watch for them, since you won’t need a whole matching set!

Supplies:

  • plastic or glass ball ornaments in solid colors
  • letter stickers (find a variety of fonts in the scrapbooking section of your local craft store)
  • ribbon or string

Directions:

This is pretty basic. Simply use 3-5 stickers of each letter, depending on the size of the ball, to decorate your ornament.

You could use the first letter of their last name for a family gift or to attach to a gift card for newlyweds or a housewarming gift, or you could make one for each person using the first letter of their first name.

Carefully apply each sticker to avoid bubbles (since the surface of the ball is round and not flat) and then add a coordinating ribbon or string for it to hang from.

Join us as we celebrate 101 Days of Christmas with new DIY projects, gift ideas, traditions and more every day from now through Christmas!

I “cleaned” under my fridge yesterday….and GROSSS. Thanks for the oven drawer take-out tip. I saved that side of the kitchen for the weekend when my husband can watch the kiddos.
I find that multi-use appliances save me money and space. I love my Cuisinart because I can shred, chop, puree, make pie dough and bread dough with one appliance. I don’t have room, or the nerves to deal with many single-use appliances.
Thanks for such a wonderful post. Here are my before, during, and after pics! http://www.organizing-life.com/spring-cleaning-party-day-5/
Have a wonderful Mother’s Day all!
